Hi All,

I am a permanent resident doing my PhD and I want to invite my wife on TRV for short stay in Canada.
We applied two times from India VFS office they rejected our application.

We submitted all necessary documentation such as 1) marriage certificate with photos, 2) chat history from Skype and emails, 3)affidaviat from both families stating finances and family ties, 4)travel history, 5) my wife's current job offer letter and next job when she returns to India.6)Bank details from my wife

From my side, 1) we provided invitation letter, 2) covering letter, 3)utility bills, 4) rental agreement, 5) bank statements form last 8 months, letter from Department, supervisor as well as university stating my scholarship details.6) PR card and driving licence copy
Reason for rejection were

First time: Current employment status, family ties in Canada etc
Second time: Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering your travel history, economic establishment and family ties I am not satisfied that you would respect terms of your admission as a TR residents in Canada.

We are now confused what to do with these rejection reasons. I think our case is straight forward but still dont know why is being rejected.

Do you guys think submitting online application from Canada will help?

Please guide us guys.. Help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

When were the two refusals? What dates? It may be a good idea to wait a number of months before trying to apply again. She may have to wait until she has started her new job and worked in that job for several months before trying again.

How long a trip did she request? Does she have a travel history that includes countries such as the US, UK, Europe, etc.?

Ah - I just realized that you are a PR rather than a foreign student.

I would forget about applying for another TRV - it will almost surely be refused since CIC assumes your wife has plans to remain in Canada long term. You should apply for PR instead.

Hi Scylla,

Thanks for reply.
My wife travel history is France for 1 year and Thailand for a week. No USA or UK.

As far as PR application considered, when I check eligibility for her visit to Canada by answering quesenerries, it showed me that she can either visit Canada as a PR holder or on TRV.
Thats why out intention is to apply for TRV first not PR.

Please any inputs from you guys will be considered.

It's typically difficult to get a TRV approved when your spouse is Canadian since CIC knows your wife most likely has plans to remain in Canada long term - and TRVs are meant to be used for visits, not to move to Canada ahead of getting PR. With two refusals already under her belt - the chances of a TRV refused are pretty much nil. Again, you should apply to sponsor her for PR instead. If she has too many TRV refusals, this could complicate/delay the PR process.
