Hi. I did my masters from UOIT, canada and then got post grad Work permit and got a decent job at a PR FIRM. Meanwhile I also applied for my OINP last year and I got it. When I applied for my post grad Work permit I got it for one year instead of three because my passport was expiring within an year. I touched base with CIC and they said that when I get my passport renewed I can re apply for visa and shouldn't be a problem. So I got my new passport made this year. My Work permit was expiring on 16th April. I applied online for renewal with a valid job offer in march. Yesterday I came to know my Work permit renewal has been refused. I was shocked and called CIC. They said I had to apply via paper application, and since there is a lot of load, the processing times is 4 months. Also, as long as I don't get my work permit, I cannot do job. I have a good job and I don't want to leave it. If I leave my job, I will be homeless and penniless with in a month.
Please guide me what to do.

You'll need to apply to restore your status along with applying to extend your work permit since your work permit has already expired.

You do need to stop working since your work permit has expired and you're out of status in Canada. You won't be able to start working again until the restoration application and work permit extension have been approved. Unfortunately there's no way around that.

Ensure that you explain in LOE that PGWP issued to you first time was issued until the expiry of your passport. Therefore, you are requesting for an extension. Refer to remarks in your first PGWP "Temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6). Document issued to expiry of passport"

I wonder, if you already got the OINP, then you could have applied for OWP on basis of PNP or bridge permit if you already applied for PR.
