Hello everyone,

I am quite stressed at the moment. I have applied for a IEC working holiday and it has not fully processed yet. I am departing Australia pretty soon.
I was wondering what the process would be if I flew into Canada. Could I possibly present myself as a visiter at customs (I was not planning on working straight away anyway). If I present that I have enough funds and show I have bought travel insurance for my duration would I be fine to enter? This is stressing me out because I don't want to have wasted a lot of money on flights and insurance.
I know exactly where I will be staying. I have been offered to stay with my friend who is a citizen. As I was an exchange student when I was in high school. I have also applied and been accepted on a B1/B2 visa in the US.
I am thinking I could drive back to the US Canada border when I have been accepted into the IEC program and get my permit.

All help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Willow. I am sure you can do that. Being an Australia you are visa exempt and you can enter as a visitor. You may just need to convince the border officer that you will leave at the end of ur visitor visa.
The only differnce it will make it that you cannot enter on a one way ticket as a visitor however on IEC you can enter on one way ticket. When did you apply btw ? I got mine approved in 24 hours each step.

Hope this helps.
