2. 1 year Pre-University (prior to 10+2 Stream) passed in 1986

3. 2 year local college certificate course in Company accounts (not related to any university or elsewhere) passed in 1994

4. 2 year Master in Commerce post graduated degree (distance education)from UGC recognised university, university is member of assocation of Indian Universities under open university system. Passed in 2009

5. Currently Studying in ICWAI (institute of cost & works accountants of India)

Pls assess and let me know how many points I can get in education front.

One year post-secondary educational credential, other than a university
credential, and at least 12 years of completed full-time or full-time equivalent

One year university educational credential at the bachelor’s level, and at least 13

Hello Qorax,

I was hoping you could help me as well. I wanted to ask if I did my initial application (the one we send to Nova Scotia) incorrectly. In form 3, which is the "economic classes -federal skilled worker". In my work experience under noc, I put 4131 and under main duties, I based my duties on what is in the Noc 4131 website http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=4131 , so everything there was done correctly. But under occupation, I put "writing consultant" which is the proper name of my current job. My question is since "writing consultant" is not under the noc 4131 list, will this be a problem? I could have put "language school instructor" or "English as a second language teacher (ESL) – college level" as my occupation as these are what my job duties are and they are example titles found in the website, but I didnt. So my question to you is will my blunder of writing "writing consultant" as my occupation be grounds for rejection? Also, when I ask for a reference letter, should I ask my employer to write "writing consultant" as my occupation or "language school instructor"?

Hi Qorax,

I passed my 1st set of document to cic NS last April 15 I am assuming I'll be recieving my AOR this June, so I wanted to ask when I recieve my AOR and I need to submit my 2nd set of documents, do I need to submit my proof of funds? Or do I submit that at a later time. Any info on this would be appreciated as I actually dont have the funds yet. Also, if I send my proof of funds (I need $20,600 as we are a family of four) and I suddenly deposit that amount a few weeks before I pass my papers, would I be denied? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

1. The desig doesn't matter... but the JDs do. So if u meet around 60-70% of the JDs [as given by HRSDC] against your NOC, u r good to go.

2. Secondly, u cannot fake your desig. Can u? U must have got an appointment letter to start with, which u r supposed to attach, so how do u manage that, even if u remake your ref letters?

3. Advise: Write your desig as it is in all documentations... just strengthen your JDs everywhere.

1. Yes, the POF 'must' go alongwith the complete 120 days docs.
2. Yes, sudden surge in funds might raise a red-flag. Do so asap...
3. Advise: Put them into Term Deposits, rather than in the 'savings' or 'current' a/c... that might help.
