Hey there,
I am filling in my CEC application and found a few problems, could you please help me?

1 Generic application form for Canada:

question 7: Have you received your Certificat de selection du quebec (CSQ)?
should I leave this blank? I am afraid that they will consider my application as incompleted if I leave this blank.

Personal details:
Question 10, because I have left Canada last month, so I put my home country as my current country of residence. However, I can't fill in the question 11 (date and place of your last entry to Canada). should I leave this or I should fill in this by hand?

Schedule A:
question 8: personal history
Should I put all the trips here? for example, I took 5 weeks holiday in China during working in Canada.

Schedule 8:
question 7:
I don't have education in canada (i have 2 years work experience). Should I put NA here?

question 5 b)
for 5a), my answer is no, should I leave b) blank or tick No?

Last question:
I am trying to fill in all of the forms electronically. However, sometimes the space is not enough, so, can I fill in the forms electronically while a few spaces I filled by hand?

I am in my home country and can't call CIO' number, so please help me here. Thanks a lot.

Wow, the instruction guide is surprisingly lacking, isn't it?

1 Generic application form for Canada:
question 7: Have you received your Certificat de selection du quebec (CSQ)?
should I leave this blank? I am afraid that they will consider my application as incompleted if I leave this blank.

If you select any province other than QC, then the whole section for Question 7 is greyed out. You can leave it blank, or write in "N/A" for "not applicable."

Personal details:
Question 10, because I have left Canada last month, so I put my home country as my current country of residence. However, I can't fill in the question 11 (date and place of your last entry to Canada). should I leave this or I should fill in this by hand?

The fact that if you chose any country other than Canada for item 10, then the form greys Q11, suggests that they only care about last entry info if you are a resident of Canada. But the instruction guide does not say this, so I suggest filling it in by hand.

Schedule A:
question 8: personal history
Should I put all the trips here? for example, I took 5 weeks holiday in China during working in Canada.

No - this should be for main activity (working in Canada). But you will need to include that info on the other form, Supplementary Information – Travel List (IMM 5562).

Schedule 8:
question 7:
I don't have education in canada (i have 2 years work experience). Should I put NA here?

Yes, if you mean Schedule 8. If you mean Schedule A, all applicants have to answer.

question 5 b)
for 5a), my answer is no, should I leave b) blank or tick No?

Just answer no to both.

Last question:
I am trying to fill in all of the forms electronically. However, sometimes the space is not enough, so, can I fill in the forms electronically while a few spaces I filled by hand?

The more you do electronically, the easier it will be for data entry. If you can shorten things, use abbreviations, etc. and fit it in, it's better. But do what you have to do , if that means writing it in, adding extra sheets, etc.

Thanks jes-ON
i just read the question again: schedule 8, question 5 b)
I was a recipient of a Government of Canada scholarship that required me to return to my home country following the completion of my degree, but I have satisfied the terms of the scholarship or award.

I have nothing related to such a scholarship, so I should put N/A here, however, there are only No or Yes to tick. If I tick No, I am afraid there is a confusion: I haven't satisfied the terms of the scholarship, if I tick Yes, it seems I was a recipient.

Can I leave it blank or just tick NO?

Thanks again!

Read the CEC guide - the scholarships are listed there. If you were a recipient of any of them, the answer is "Yes". Whether or not you've fulfilled the conditions is separate. Since recipients of these scholarships can't use that period of study for CEC, you need 2 yrs skilled work experience and will be applying as a temporary foreign worker.

List all trips have taken outside your country of origin or of residence in the last ten years.

I am in my home country now. should I include the two years work experience in Canada here?
Or I can consider Canada as my country of residence by that time (even though I am no longer there?)

I lived in the UK for 4 years before moving to Canada. So, can I consider UK as my country of residence during that 4 years? Or I should list all the trips to the UK too? If so, it will be a lot of trips.

I can't call CIO in my home country, please help me.

Thanks a lot

Hi Shah,
question 10: country of residence
country: Canada status: Worker from: 2008 To: 2012(put the current date in here)
status would be worker based on the context
in To date, you should put the current date not the future date, as per the application guide, it is asking for you have been living
your work permit might be valid for another 2 or 3 years, but you might go back to your home country - they already have this info till how long your WP is valid for and also you are submitting it, as a part of checklist

Background Schedule A: Not required to mention that you went for a month vacation in here, this one is asking for your activities, did you go to home country to get a job for a month? and during that month's period was your mailing address changed to your home country if so yes, if not then no.

schedule 8 question 8:work history, guess you meant question 9 because there is no question 8 in schedule 8 form for work history
you should give the complete dates in there for both from and to, if you prefer to write "present/till/current date" in To field that would also be fine, you will be signing this form with the date in it so that should not be a problem

schedule 8 question 7: Not sure

better to get it confirmed with Jes_on/Senoritabella

Hi Toddmeng,
based on your question, it seems you are living in your home country now, so you should list both UK & Canada and also any other countries travelled
