hi everyone,

pls if anyone good help me i kindly request you to help me

i am from Sri Lanka and have completer MSc finance and accounting from uk university. now i would like to apply for the Canadian student visa. but i found one of the professional course of charted in general accountant (CGA) in Canada. but i cant apply for the visa directly for that course. so there is a Bcom international finance and accounting, that leads to the charted in general accountant(CGA) as it get the exemption up to fourth level of CGA.

but the problem is i am a postgraduate. if i apply for the B.com, will it be a problem for me. bcoz the embassy may raise the question that i have already finished postgraduate then why i selected the undergraduate degree. i am so confused. could anyone help me out to find solution. thank you

hi,

1. Yes this could be a problem.

2. Well one thing goes in your favour, since you have credentials from UK (I hope its not an online course,) so it will certainly make your file strong.

3. Prepare one excellent SOP (Statement of purpose)explaining your decision to go after this course, and mention all those facts honestly. It may work !

thank you for your kind reply.

i just asked from visa consultant in Canada, he said it will not be a problem and i can any courses from Canada, i am not satisfied with that. because on this forum many students stated that they got rejected their visa on the ground of degree mismatch,

i am so confusing. please give me a clear idea.

1. yes, you are right. "degree mismatch" is almost top reason for rejection. You can't go with a course which is incompatible with your prior work and study history.

2. Do not trust agents. They will always talk "affirmative" in order to extract money from you. They tie up with very low grade schools who needs international students to run school.

1. Since you already holds a Master degree as well as a course completion from UK, so I would suggest you better for prospective courses at University level.

2. I would suggest you to look at John Molson School of Business, Concordia University. They have one Graduate Certificate program for CMA and CA. Infact, I would say just search out major Canadian business school, apart from MBA they usually run courses in accounts and finance.

You can search for course on www.canadian-universities.net
I found this site very useful.

1. if you are interested in "Post Graduate Diploma", then I would suggest you to look at John Molson School of Business, Concordia University in Montreal. Its a well known business school in Canada.

2. Its a "Graduate Diploma in Business Administration". A one year program with only September Intake each year.

If you are interested, let me know the same ! Otherwise you can also try for MBA with specialization in Accountancy. If interested, then try for Wilfried laurier MBA in Ontario. (GMAT is required)

My Dear,

As a prospective international student you are not eligible to apply for any part time course. Its strictly no ! Have a look at this web link, you shall find out MBA program with Accountancy as major. In this weblink, just avoid "Athabasca University" as its providing Online module and you are not eligible for the same.

In this second link, you will find graduate programs for Accounting professionals.
