Hi there,
My Irish common law spouse is looking to extend his Temporary Resident Permit. He was initially granted a 6 month temporary visitor permit which expires in 40 days. We will be applying to extend his temporary resident status ONLINE 30 days prior to his current expiration. The reason why we want an extension is because we have applied for a Spousal Sponsorship application and we want him to stay in Canada while his application is being processed. When we apply online, I am attaching the following documents with our application.
1. Letter from me confirming that I will be supporting him financially during his extended stay
2. Confirmation from my employer confirming my employment and salary
3. Paystub
4. Copy of joint bank account statement
5. Notarized Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union
6. Invoice from our current lawyer confirming payment for Spousal Application
7. E-receipt from Citizenship and Immigration Canada for payment of Spousal sponsorship application
8. Letter from my common law spouse explaining our relationship and purpose of extension
9. List of my common law spouse's family in Ireland (to prove he has ties in Ireland)
Is there anything else that you guys would recommend? We would be absolutely devastated if he had to leave.
