Pre-Assessed..
I submitted by PR application on Dec 14th 2015 along with the PCC which I had got here in Canada in July 2015. Today I have this request from CIC.

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the review of your application, we require the following documents:
> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate. You must provide a certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints. Please check the CIC website (Obtaining Police Certificates) and refer to RCMP certificates in Canada for details on obtaining a RCMP Criminal Record Check.
Consult http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm for detailed instructions.

They need this in 60 days. I had already provided my police certificate which I had got in July 2015, I submitted my application in Dec 2015. So why are they asking this again?

Thus is urgent. Appreciate your response. What do I do?

Thanks so much

PCC generally are valid for 3 months. You will need a new one. Get in touch with RCMP for it ASAP.

I thought it is valid for 6 months, and they mean the Canadian finger prints? No?

They asked for your RCMP record.. are you sure you provided this to them before?

Nope, I provided the Indian PCC not the RCMP from Canada. No

Well, the Police Clearance Certificate is what you have provided them.

With this notification, CIC needs the RCMP Certificate. This means you get your finger printing done from one of the security agencies (registered ones under CIC). That agency will send the finger prints to RCMP. RCMP once verifies the information with your finger prints will send you a paper mail at your address with a letter confirming the record. Now, this is the certificate that your upload.

Best of Luck.

They are asking for the RCMP Criminal Record Check. You need to get it.

Thanks folks. Appreciate your help. I figured that too. Called CIC and asked another friend. :)

I am just in the process of getting the RCMP.

Thanks again.

i think they are asking for recent certificate, as well as pcc from your country wherever you are from

Does everyone who apply from Canada needs to RCMP? I thought only PCC required from other country?

You need PCC from all the countries if you have stayed in that country for 6 or more than 6 months.

But for anyone living in Canada while you apply for Express Entry, you need finger printings (RCMP background check) as well along with Canadian PCC.

Thanks.

Thank you. How long will it take? its mentioned it will take upto 120 days for paper, and 3 business days for electronic if no match? what is match and no match?

Not to everyone, only for those who they suspect have a criminal record in Canada. They accessed the RCMP criminal record themselves, if there is any similarity in name, DOB etc they will ask you to provide them yours to make sure you are not the same person they suspect.

You didn't provide RCMP police cert as instructed in initial application. CIC conducts their own check with RCMP and does reserve the right to ask for fingerprints as they wish, and so they did. So you will need to apply as they requested.

Actually the fact that they ask for more PCC and didn't reject you right away is a sign they accepted your foreign PCC. So good on you.

We don't need to provide PCC for Canada, right? This is what I understand from CIC website!
The PCs are required upfront and mandatory for each country (except Canada) where an individual has lived for six or more months in a row.
