Dear All, please I have an urgent and critical clarification request as I am about to submit my citizenship application.
I have 2 children living with me here in Canada with my current wife and I have an older child from a previous marriage (a divorced wife not living in Canada). The older child does NOT live with me in Canada and lives in my home country with my divorced wife who has a full custody on my older child there in my home country.
During my permanent residence application process time few years ago I could not let my older child in my home country do medical examination because I don’t have full custody and therefore I was asked my CIC at that time to submit an officially signed and notarized declaration form stating that this child is a ‘non accompanying child’ and that I will never be able to sponsor him in the future for a permanent residence and therefore he became separated from my permanent residence application. After submitting the declaration form as requested by CIC then CIC waived the medical examination requirement for my older child who lives in my home country with my divorced wife and subsequently my permanent residence application was approved and myself together with my wife and other two kids received permanent residence.
Now in the citizenship application form for adult (myself) there is a section for the education history of my children so my understanding (unless I am mistaken) is that I have to provide only the information of the two children who are accompanying me here in Canada and NOT to write anything about my older child who lives with my divorced wife in my home country as he was already declared as a non accompanying child and he is not a permanent resident with reference to the declaration form of non accompanying child which I submitted during my permanent residence process time as I mentioned earlier? Is my understanding correct or I have to write about him as well in the education history despite the fact that he was already declared as a non accompanying child and separated from my permanent residence application few years ago?
Would you please advise urgently whether or not to mention anything about my older child in my citizenship application?
Appreciate your support.
