Hi Experts,

I have an urgent situation.

I recently got my Canada Work Permit approved and am waiting for my passport stamping to complete in next 1-2 weeks. While applying, in the family information form (IMM5645E), I mentioned that my wife will accompany me.

However, I was assuming that this would be sufficient for my wife to travel to Canada as a dependent after I travel.

But looks like that is not the case and I need to apply for her visa as well so that she can travel to Canada in future. She does not intend to work, but just visit me.

1. Can you please let me know what visa I need to apply for her? my options?
2. What are the approximate timelines?
3. Will this be a multiple-entry visa so that she can visit me for few months and go back to her work location in USA and visit again in future?

1. Assuming she not a citizen of visa exempt country, then she applies for a visitor visa (TRV) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp
2. If she is in the US, then if she doesn't require bio metrics, the processing time is 35-38 days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp#west
3. She should request multiple entry.
