Urgent advise needed about Open work permit

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student and my program ends august 2018, my fiancé and I would like to get married soon so I’m concerned about the time frame i have left to get him to canada on an Open Work Permit through my study permit

1. Am i able to change my martial status and sponsor him on my study permit since my program ends in August?

2. After August (when my study permit has ended) is there any option to sponsor him as a spouse to obtain an open work permit since I would now be on my PGWP?

Hi

1. You can certainly apply for his OWP after you get married but given the processing times, there may be less than 6 months validity on your study permit, which would lead to a refusal.

2. You must have a skilled job for your spouse to qualify to apply for an OWP based on your PGWP.
