Urgent: Additional Doc for EE and BOWP clash

I have a PR application under review since May. I received a notification today that they require a additional document. I have only 7 days to submit this document otherwise as stated in the letter '...application could be refused as incomplete'. Unfortunately I don't have this document with me and it needs to be issued from an other country. Taking into account the Christmas and new year holidays plus the processing time to get this document from abroad I am quite sure that I can't get this within 7 days. Can I request for an extension for submitting that document via a cover letter explaining the current circumstances? What are chances of getting approval for such extension?

Secondly I have a BOWP application under process, my current work permit is due to expire in less than a month. Will the additional document requirement for PR have a affect on BOWP outcome. I mean while PR is waiting for the additional document will that mean that my BOWP application can be refused due to that?

Really stressed out. If there is anyone who can provide some guidance / information on these issues, it will be highly appreciated.

Sorry - have you already passed the R10 completeness check or not? It kind of sounds like you have not, but it's been too long for that.

If the document should have been submitted with the application per instructions, and somehow your application made it past the completeness check and was put into processing without the document, then IRCC may not have a lot of tolerance for your explanation.

But it kind of depends on what the document is.

In any case, it sounds like you have no choice but to apply for the document, and then submit a request for extension along with proof that you have applied for the document, and some evidence of the expected processing time.

RE the BOWP application, it is possible that a decision is being held until your application is deemed complete.

Thanks for reply. The requested document was not required for the PR application. It's most definitely a additional document. I hope they give us extension to get this document and BOWP is not affected by this.

Without knowing what it is, all I can say is that for IRCC to consider the application "incomplete" it would have to be a required document.

Thanks so much for reply again. The document is related to non-accompanying child (my daughter lives with my ex-wife) abroad, ex-wife has the full custody. I need a copy of a court order related to custody which I had but it was years ago and I can't find it (I know I should have scanned it kept it safe but the mistake has been made). I have checked with lawyer he can get it from the court record but that can take few weeks or a month. This order was not required with original submission but they asked for it today and only given 7 days.
