Hi every one, could any one confirm me that passport could be used as ID document although the biographical pages are required in a previous section. and whu it is mentioned as examples for ID on CIC website while we should provide a copy of it in the previous section. I should have submitted my application a month ago, but me and my wife don't have a second piece of ID (We have health card, passports and PR card, which are already required in previous sections) we don't have a driver license. I am so worried that If we apply with my passport and OHIP as 2 pieces of ID my application returned back and I don't have time to reapply again before the new regulations. we applied for Ontario photo card but we did not receive it yet. I am so worried that we still wait for the photo card and the new residency regulations take effect.
Another question, could the recently issued documents (within last three months) trigger RQ, I am really so confused what should I do, apply with my passport and OHIP card as two pieces of ID or wait for my Photo card and represent it with my OHIP. Your advise is very appreciated...

Yes, you can use passport as ID for sure; I also confirmed this from call center;

And recently issued ID is no more a trigger these day I heard

do You trust the CIC agents. Every time I speak to one of them he seems not sure and cant confirm this point. Also I am worried that my application is review by an agent who will ask another ID document than passport if I send it.

I dont think the agent can ask for another ID; because they only mentioned in their guidelines that PP is acceptable

In the passport section, include biographical pages for your current and expired passports within the last four years. In the ID section, include biographical pages of your current passport and another official ID card with photo, such as OHIP card. Many applicants have reported that they used their passports for both sections.

don't worry you would be fine.

I have drivers license which has health card and drivers license in one id.
I used the following:
1. current passport's biographical pages as 1st ID (i made another copy of the same to show it in biographical pages of passports held in past 4 years)
2. Drivers license as 2nd ID (health card is printed on its back)

My application is in process and i faced no problems.

good luck

I have submitted my application with only PR, Health card and Passport. I didn't had the driving license too. Just make 2 copies of each.

I have submitted my application with just one copies of biographic pages of passport, drivers licence, health card and PR.
My wife doesn't have a drivers licence. So we made one copies of passport, health card and PR for her.

Everything went fine and we got our AOR yesterday. If you are using Passport as an ID, no need to make two copies. One copy in your file should be sufficient.
