Updating new passport information while pgwp is in process

Hello all. I need to apply for my pgwp asap, however my passport is still in the process of being renewed. Is it possible to apply for pgwp with old passport and then update passport information using the web form? If this is done, will the pgwp be issued according to the old passport that was submitted while applying or the new passport?

From experience, IRCC will not consider your new passport, they will work with your current passport's expiration date, and ask you to apply for an extension.
