Hello All,
i was looking for pointers on how I can update my address with the CIC having received the PR card at another address. A few details that could help your responses (around my inquiry) follow:
(a) Since I made the application from the USA, do I need to send out the updated address my snail mail as per the instructions listed:
You are in the United States: you can do one of the following:
(c) Does the address on my PR card have to match the address I provide while applying for the SIN?

i was looking for pointers on how I can update my address with the CIC having received the PR card at another address. A few details that could help your responses (around my inquiry) follow:
- I applied for my PR (using the express entry) from the USA (application was submitted by a lawyer based in Canada), and, I was granted the PR status.
- I landed as a PR in 2016 and provided an address that was used to mail the PR card (the PR card has this address).
- I'm now looking to update the address that the CIC has on file for me to another address. I tried using the Change of Address (Online service), but, the system cannot locate my application for me to go in and update the address they have on file.
(a) Since I made the application from the USA, do I need to send out the updated address my snail mail as per the instructions listed:
You are in the United States: you can do one of the following:
- Mail a letter to CPC-Sydney with your new address.
- If you sent your application on or after September 2, 2013, read the acknowledgement letter we sent you. It will explain how to change your address.
- If you sent your application before September 2, 2013, contact the Canadian embassy or consulate where you sent your application.
(c) Does the address on my PR card have to match the address I provide while applying for the SIN?
Many thanks in advance!
