Update SIN record after getting Citizenship

No, updating service canada is enough. When I changed from a temp SIN to a permanent one, I just updated service canada and in theory my employer. CRA already knew and had them linked by the time I went to file my first return with my new SIN...

Thanks, did you call-in/visit in-person to update or just online? I couldn't find anything in the online account for updating the citizenship status.

• Work records
• Elections Canada
• Service Canada (takes care of CRA as well)
• Banks (some do it self-service online without even asking for any document like Wealthsimple, others like TD make you go in person with a physical proof like it's 18th century)
• School, if applicable
• .....still figuring out the rest

Are these necessary even? School, work - sure. CRA - just tick the box in next filing. Banks - don't know if it matters, really, if you were already a PR.

Nope it doesn't matter but as you see from the thread it's for people like us with OCD. Just need everything to be in sync.
