Hi guys,
First I would like to thank the members on this forum for offering their expertise and from which I have gained a lot. Secondly I would like some clarity on my issue and will be grateful if somebody could shed light on it.
I am currently pursuing PhD at one of the universities in Canada and have just entered the country early september. I have been in the country one month. My family has joined me here as well.
I have put my profile in the express entry pool and expect to hear from CIC in the next draw around 17th oct (assuming the draw doesn't have a cutoff above 455). My question is about proof of funds.
I used to be in the US before this but before coming here i wrapped everything up and pretty much emptied my account there (have about 3.5k USDs left there. I have brought all my savings here and also brought cash with me from my home country (which i visited after quitting my job in the US). For my family of 4 I have said i will bring 27k CAD with me (which I have in my chequing account with TD). In addition to that I also have a scholarship which allows me to have some stipend (and a scholarship) every few months.
My question is about the POF requirement for 6 months. My bank balance in canada will have been above 27k but only for a period of more than a month by the time I get my ITA. I don't seem to fulfill the requirement of 6 months. I will have access to my online bank statements from my days in the US when i drew down my account and sent it to my sister (she wired it to me in mid September). Is the last 6 month requirement a strict requirement from CIC? Is there something i can do about this? I have had the money on me but just not in one place and so it is hard to get a letter from the financial institutions fulfilling the 6 month requirement.
Additionally my scholarship money also makes periodic credits into my bank account so that bumps up my bank balance. Is that a problem too?
