Hi -
First of all I really admire everyone on these boards and all the struggles that I (now know) it takes to cross a border as more than just a tourist. I have been trying to get a closed work permit for a one year job in Canada as a US citizen. For the past several months, with extra delays because of the strike, so now the time I would work there is even less than a year. Basically it has been a every expensive nightmare and at this point I'd rather not even take the job, and want to just move on with my life (although I had already signed the contract back in November of 2012). I don't really want to just tell the Canadian company that though because of possible repercussions both with them and back home, and would rather say that my work permit has been denied. Would they be able to verify that as a third party?
Thanks so much for any input
