Let's say someone is studying in Canada under a study permit (that says ANY POST SECONDARY INSTITUTION)... Can that person also pursue another course of study at another institution/college simultaneously without having to apply for extra permits (assuming he can handle the load for two programs :))

u cant be enrolled in two schools at the same time ,coz the second uni will ask u to withdraw from the current one.
u can transfer from one to another if u withdraw first.
hope that helps

Thanks but are you saying that there is no issue with the study permit, just the schools themeselves?

How would the other school know? btw the schools have different disciplines and are post grad, so the load is not much..

In my experience, you can study in only one program, but you could take one or two courses at another institution. Usually, students do this so they can get a prerequisite or transfer. For instance, you could do a BBA at one university but take a math course somewhere else at the same time.

yeah ,thats transfer student (Special student category)who will take few courses in another university and has to get permission from home university first.
There is another category which is AP (Advanced placement) if u study at one school and then u leave that school and decide to go to other so u'll ask the school to give u AP in courses u request (that depends on school how much they award u AP) like i got for 4 courses (Max.) out of 7.

hope that helps

1. You can be student of one university at a time (full time student). You can take like language courses, tourism related courses when you are visiting some place etc as it is not counted towards your education.

2. If you change the course at the same level (say from master of engineering to master of maths) you don't need to notify CIC. However if you change the level of your course say (Master to Ph.D or from Masters to a diploma) then you would need to submitt change condition form.
