Unsure of my situation for spousal sponsorship

My husband an I have been married for 3 years and we just had our first child together a few months ago, he's from Honduras and I will be starting the process to sponsor him to live in Canada. I was unsure about a few points pertaining to our situation. I am hoping that someone can help me answer some of these questions.
1) our baby was born in Canada and is a Cdn citizen, is she considered a dependent in the eyes of immigration processes? I don't have to sponsor her over so I don't consider her a dependent, but I've heard a few different things.
2) I am currently on maternity leave, and am planning to go to Honduras with the baby for 5-6 months to be with her father, so I won't be working a while after my maternity leave is done, is there a minimum income that I have to make in order to sponsor my husband over here?
3) my husband is in the military and has another year and a half on his service, when should I start the application process so that hopefully it coincides with the time he is done. How long does he have once he receives an ok to the time he needs to be in Canada? Or can he come to Canada for a week or so then go back to Hinduras to finish his service? Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. This whole process is so confusing!

I can help you with a few questions.

1) Your baby is not considered a dependent, since she is already Canadian. I believe she would be listed on the additional family information form, but that's it.
2) There is no minimum income requirement for sponsoring your spouse. You need to prove that you can support yourself without needing welfare. If you have a history of working, and a solid plan of how you are going to support yourselves, then you should be fine.

The visa expiry date is tied to his medicals. The medicals are good for one year, however the visa office has the power to extend them. I really don't know how it would work with your husband currently in the military, sorry.
