Unofficial work for Canadian employer - Should I tell my Visa Office?

Dear all,

I have done my medical exam last year and am waiting for the passport request. While waiting for the visa, I have started working for a Canadian employer (online) who is willing to hire me when I move. There was no contract signed and no pay yet; just verbal agreement. The job I am doing is a different NOC, not the one I am applying in.

The question is:

Should this be reported to CIC because it falls under the "change in employment" requirement? At some point later, the results of my work will be made public, so I won't be able to "hide" the fact that I collaborated/worked with that Canadian employer.

Any insights will be greatly appreciated!

No, do not inform without any proof of employment, once you get all documents from your employer (contract letter or employement letter or hiring letter by employer) then send email or written in by your country's postal service to your local VO , otherwise you will be in trouble, now CIC watching this forum activity "specialy for FSW1 outside Canada applicants post".

Thanks for getting back to me on this but I am not sure what you mean by "otherwise you will be in trouble, now CIC watching this forum activity "specialy for FSW1 outside Canada applicants post"".

Yes, I am outside of Canada waiting for my case to be finalized, and I will get the contract letter only after I move to Canada, and at that point CIC won't care for one. I need to know if I need to tell them now. I am done with the medical exam - it's not that this job will add me more points/experience/adaptability, etc. And it's a great "survival" job until I find one in my NOC, so I want to keep it. Also, I don't plan on getting paid soon - in fact, I don't care when they pay me and it can certainly be after landing.

What exactly could potentially put me in trouble?? Telling the VO or not telling them??

as per above your text, my comments is dont update CHC or when VO asked you tell them you are jobless, See if you have proper work letter or employment letter then better to update your VO about your current employment, yes CIC and all local VO CHC monitor this site. trust me.
