Hi, I have a Co-op term coming in January and till now I have been unable to find one. The deadline to find a co-op is March 15th My college said if you can't find a co-op you will be placed on an unofficial break starting March 15th- April 15th and next semester will start from May 5th. My current semester ends on December 15th. My question is will it impact my PGWP since the break will be less than 150 days?

So what are you doing from January to April. If not studying or have co-op then it can impact your PGWP as you were not a full time student for that semester.

That period will be considered as finding co-op according to my college.
So you are not a full time student if it is an unofficial drop. Ask your school how it will be written on your transcript if you aren’t taking any courses and don’t have a co-op placement. If you don’t have a co-op job and not attending school, it can impact your PGWP as you are not a full-time student.

So what's the best scenario here for me to take an authorized break give some valid reason to take a break or something else?

Shall I ask my college that the leave they are giving is authorized or not?

How is it not authorized when college allows it?
If it is authorized and you have a letter from college stating you have approved leave, and your transcription shows it as approved leave then you should be okay. The college can allow you to take leave but it may not be authorized. it doesn’t matter to them about your PGWP requirements.
