I have done BSc in Geography and then after 2years diploma (s/w) from Aptech. And since then I am in IT profession.Whether NOC will consider the occupation on the basis of qualification I had or Can I consider the NOC code for current profession in which I am working currently. I have 9 years of experience in IT.

I personally think there should be no problems @ all. Use the applicable- IT NOC on the Ministerial list.
I did Electronics Engineering but have been in IT for over 10+ years and have also applied with NOC's in IT.

you need a degree from university and profession which is listed in new list. if you are performing the dusties related to 0213 than you are eligible. but be carefull key word is "manager". you job experiance must be at mangerial level.
in some profession degree must be match with job like doctor, nurse etc. but not for IT people.

You don't necessarily need a degree from a University in the Same field. A Diploma will suffice (take the test on the CIC Website) to assess your points. It all depends on whether you achieve the 67Points benchmark. However, you do need to fulfill the NOC 0213 requirements as mentioned in the NOC classification.

CUT is right by saying that in IT, your Qualification does not need to match your profession.

Professional Certificates together with a degree(in any field), IT Training, Employment Contract(s), Pay stubs, References etc. would be great to prove your experience. Certifications ( Microsoft, Comptia (especially in the US and Canada), CISCO, NOVELL, LP, ITIL etc. are a plus point as I have gathered from the researches done. Being a Member of a professional body like the CITPS, BCS etc is also seen positively.
