I just got accepted by University of Alberta(yesterday) for Electrical Engineering with Nanotechnology Specialisation under-grad and I'll be applying for the Visa from VFS Mumbai. However, I read that after the pre-medical test, visa application should be made a week later only? Is that absolutely necessary, won't that delay the process? Anyway I had no idea Canadian visa was so complicated, I was actually concentrating on UK, where my brother lives, and their student visa applications are hassle free. Also, the GIC process(!!), from what I gathered, the GIC plus tuition fees receipt is what is needed right and I am just 18 so an affidavit from my parents and my brother of sponsorship? Should I meet the VFS people first about all the necessary documents needed?
Anyway, anyone else who got in Alberta? I have a friend there in 2nd year, she got her acceptance in July as well but her visa took two months and so she was slightly late as her 1st semester had started. However, she had applied online and said that paper visas for Alberta with sufficient funds and medical should not take more than 3 weeks.
