Hi,
I want to do Masters in computer science from canada.......But due to low GPA i m not sure that whether i will get admission or not.

My profile is:-
10th = 73%
12th = 65%
BCS(3 yrs) average = 67% i.e.(2.6 GPA) from pune university
MCS(2yrs) = 62.33% = 2.4 GPA from pune university

1. Can anyone plz tell me which universitites accepts students of low GPA with only 6 months of work experience and no backlogs.
2. If i give the GRE exam and get good scores,will it strenghten my case?

Any comments will be appreciated................

Hi,

Well I think you have enough to make into a Canadian University. Since Canadian Universities usually set a cutoff for prospective international students and for Indian students it’s generally;

1. Frist Class for a Graduate Degree (Few even have higher second class)

2. Higher Second Class for a Master Degree Course.

So you should not worry for GPA, I do not even think if its applicable for us since its parameters and applicability is quite different in Indian scenario. I am saying it since I have also studied Law from the University of Pune and now selected for the MBA program in Canada.

Keep in mind, your educational qualification/score is just one component of your overall profile, so I have no doubt that your GRE score will definitely help you, apart from this your Statement of Purpose, Work Experience Letter, Letter of Recommendation/Reference and a CV is what makes a complete profile. So you should work on your profile not on a particular thing!

Thanks a lot enfield for ur quick reply and providing me such a useful link. :)

1. Did u mean higher second class means 55% or above as per pune university standards?
But for every university admission requirement is above 70% and i hv heard that they hv only some limited seats for international students.

2. As Pune university is the reputed and top univ in India,will it also matters while giving admission?

Looking for reply enfield bro..............
