@ harsh,

You talking bout this Course ??

http://www.uvic.ca/engineering/prospective/graduate/programs/details/computer-science-msc.php

But it seems a Research based . Kindly Confirm !!!

What is the Cost ( overall Fees for 2 years here ) as I am also looking for Course Based masters only :)

for research based it was 2041$ per term...

almost 6000$ per year..

but for course based would be little higher that that....

bro i guess its the same for course based as well since in the
tution fees website it has no mention of diff fees for the course based..!!

there is an option of an industrial Msc (course+ project work ) that is worth 16k for the entire program.!!

@ mayank bro u need to have CS background for admission here..!! one of my friends from electronics was
rejected here...

its diff to get visa for a pre masters too..!! u can try sum good collgs mayank ...george brown is a good one...

look for a co-op based advanced diplomma course....!! make sure its 2 years..so u can bag in on a 3 year work visa

after that u need just 1 year of work in 3 years , common man u should back ur self to get dat muchh..!! get a PR then
u can study at the price !!! perhaps u could afford the best with 2 years of savings..!!

plus SPP has btter chances to bag visa....

For everyone else...m not saying collgs r at par with universities , but since mayank is
keen to remain in the of CS having done his bachelors in electronics this is the best way out bro..
!!

main reasons :

Pre masters is needed b4 u can get admission to CS( i.e completion of core CS subjects)
Visa chances get reduced when applying for a premasters program

hope this helps !! TC

and yes one more thing, The CS despartments infact encourages and takes people from
diff streams for a research based prog..so u can mix ur expertise in electronics and come up
with a good research !!

but in a course based MS u need to have all the pre requisites met!!

one correction.

if you studied from British COlumbia or Ontario, then no job experience is need to apply for the PR.

2years full time study is more than enough...
