Hi guys,

I've search around this forum a bit but I believe my situation my be unique so I hope you guys can help.

Ill make this short and simple. I just received an ITA last week and in the process of getting all my documentation. However, one of the required documents is that I provided a Letter of Employment.

Just some quick background, I've been in Canada for 7 years and have been working for 3 years on a PGWP. In my work history section of the Permanent Residency application profile, I stated that I have a valid job offer but I'm also currently unemployed. The reason for my unemployed is because my work permit expired in September 2016. My job offer is from the same company I was working with as they're willing to hire me after I've received a legal status to work in Canada. Also, in the section that ask for me actual work history, I clearly stated that my last job's end date was 3 months ago. Basically, anywhere in the entire application where I can state that I am currently unemployed has been filled out and answered correctly to my best knowledge.

So i'm confused as to why one of my required documents is a Letter of Employment.

Has anyone experienced this before or have any insight how I should solve this issue? Please I would really like some help or assistance with this.

Thank you!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
They are asking for it because you claimed having a valid job offer (which you do not).

Even if you were working under a PWGP that does not constitute having a valid job offer (only LMIA or LMIA work permits which are employer specific qualify).

Ok I but it is a little confusing as the words "Letter of Employment" indicates that I'm currently employed (which I'm not). Also, on the form there is a question that ask "Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the job offer in Canada?". I've answered "No" to this question, which should by default, make my job offer invalid. So if that's the case, why I'm I still being asked for a Letter of Employment?

Just trying to get a better understanding here.

The rules changed on Nov 19th and a valid job offer can come from you having a closed work permit.

Basically, you answered yes to having a valid job offer and you don't.

This isn't the end of the world yet. Did you get an extra 50 points awarded to you when you said yes to having a valid job offer?

Hey kryt0n

No I actually didn't get an extra 50 points reward to me. In that case, should I just remove the fact that I have a valid job offer and continue with my application with out it? I thought that me having a job offer from my employer, whether it came with an LMIA or not, should have still been stated in my application.
