Unemployed, proving ties

Hi everyone,

I'm an American citizen with a Canadian boyfriend, and I'm going to visit him in a month and will stay for 3 months. I was last there in November-December, well, with him in BC, I live on the border of Manitoba and have been there for shopping in the interim. I'm currently unemployed due to health reasons(I'm bipolar and am currently receiving treatment so I can become able to work,) have no property, and I'm so worried about proving ties. I may be starting school again in the summer(online, so I could do it while I'm there...I know the online part will look sketchy to them though) and I can provide letters from my current therapists indicating I am in the process of treatment and must return to complete it, but apart from that I'm not sure what I can provide. When I went in November I had no issues, and most of my trips to Manitoba have been problem free, but there have been a few times immigration has given me a real hassle...searched my car, made to go inside and get a short grilling by the officer, etc. I've never been denied entry though. I partly wonder if it's because I have 2 UK visas in my passport from a few years ago, and they see this as a desire to live in another country, but logically I would think that proves that I emigrate LEGALLY. For this trip, I'll be taking the train to Seattle and my boyfriend's mother will pick me up(my boyfriend will most likely be working) and we'll cross the border together. I'm really afraid they're going to disbelieve my intention to return home after the 3 months. I asked the officer a couple months ago at the Manitoba border if the letters from therapists would be sufficient and he didn't seem overly concerned about a refusal, and I called CBSA a couple days ago and asked if those would be strong enough ties and he also was not very worried, he said they may not even ask, and every little bit helps. I'm really not sure what else I can do, and I'm getting pretty paranoid. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I forgot to add, I will also have travel insurance, hopefully that will show I don't intend on being a drain on the system.

It will seem from the calls you made that it's not a big concern. So I would take the letters from therapists that show your appointments with you. My understanding of travel insurance is that it only covers emergency medical expenses. Check what your policy covers. In any case, if you did need to see a doctor and insurance doesn't cover it, you will be treated but they will bill you for it.
Is your boyfriend able to add you to his medical plan at work?
