Unemployed - do I still have to prove a notice of assessment? (Spousal sponsorship)

Hello,

I'm currently unemployed and provided a detailed statement with proof on how I will support us.

Under the document checklist, a notice of assessment is asked for only if you're working in Canada. As I'm not, is it okay to not include it?

Due to an error my accountant made, I needed my taxes recalculated and I'm still waiting on a new notice (she didn't file me as common law, but my partner was filed as common law) so I don't have the correct document.

If you're in Canada, you may receive a document request if you have not submitted a notice of assessment.
Thank you for your answer! I am in Canada, and was working until just a couple of months ago. Should I provide the one I have now and say I am due for a reassessment, or should I wait until I get a notice (at which point I'll probably have the new assessment?)
