Unemployed after submitting application

So a couple of months after submitting my application I unenrolled from university due to personal reasons. That would make me unemployed. Furthermore around November I received my AOR. I haven't updated them as this all happened afterwards, but I'm doubting myself.

Should I notify them especially since it will eventually come up in the interview about current employment?

Additionally in the time from submission till interview date I'd be out of the country for 3 months on vacation, is this bad? I met residency requirements at time of submission for days in country, yet does this somehow affect my physical presence calculation.

I do have proof of residence in the country for when I return, but what problems may this cause if any?

You do not have to keep them updated of your employment/student status. If you were a student at the time you signed your application, that part holds true.
You can also travel after you submit your application, this won't affect your your physical presence days. But you do need to be mindful of making sure your PR card doesn't expire when abroad. You should also inform them via a webform submission of your travel dates so you won't get called for a test/interview/oath during the time you're away.
Good luck!
