Hello, I have been brought into the USA at a young age with my parents and they overstayed their visa which also made me an illegal immigrant and I haven't done anything to change that for 9 years. I am wondering if I can claim asylum in Canada since I do not feel safe with the current situation in the US, as well as my country of origin because even though there are legal advancements put into place to provide some protection for LGBTQ persons, it does not take away that the violence rates on LGBTQ peoples is the highest and I fear for my life if I go back to my country of origin. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Thank you very much.
