This position is also responsible for the day to day operation and management of the Technology Lab. This includes installing, wiring and configuring network elements (IP routers, ATM switches, DSLAMs, IAD's, Sun Servers, etc.) as well as executing specified tests.
Job Duties-
• Assist in the definition, and execution of test plans for specific network elements, products and services
• Provide documented results and analysis to the rest of the team.
• Provide input on overall evaluation criteria and results based on their lab experience
• Management and Operation of the Technology Lab
• Install, cable, and configure various network elements for testing
• Manage maintenance of all the support systems in the lab (HVAC, Power, UPS, Fire Suppression, etc).
Skills & Abilities-
• Understanding of how VoIP works in general
• Working knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP ,MGCP, RTP, RTPC, etc.)
• Understanding of TDM Telephony networks and protocols (GR303, PRI, CAS, SS7, etc)
• Working Knowledge of Data Communications and networks
• Configuration of IP routers and other network elements
• Working knowledge of layer two and layer three protocols, including CoS and QoS
Expected Experience-
• Designing/Installing/Configuring Data networks and related network elements
• Designing/Installing/Configuring Voice Over IP networks and related network elements
• Configuring/administering Sun Solaris and Linux servers, Virtual Machines
• Testing Voice and Data networks and elements
