Under PGWP, applying to US.

Hello,

My friend has a status of PGWP here in Canada but had recently been sponsored by her family to live in the the US (green card).


If the results of her US sponsorship comes in, does she have to be in the US immediately or can she retain her PGWP and still get greencard?

US GC conditions are very stringent. It requires person to live in the US at least 6 months a year in order to not fall into a round of being questioned at any stage later. With that, if you were to stick to the US, there wont be any point of having the PGWP. So its a matter of making a choice of where you want to settle. What are your priorities and terms? think about those and decide.
