Hello all,

I am getting to the point after a 3 year wait and increasing my EE CRS points if i should continue or cut my losses. I started at 406 points and then i decided to retake my IELTS and study a second degree which has meant my points now stand at 459. But with how high the points have remained towards the end of the year I am really starting to think that the points will not drop to where i currently reside.

More of a vent at this point rather than advice, but should anyone have any thoughts please feel free to share.

Many thanks

There have been a number of discussions on the forum about this very topic. The general feeling is that the score will certainly not drop that low this year and next year is looking unlikely too. Recommend you start looking into the PNP programs.

459 is not a bad score, but while scores will most likely drop during the year, whether it will drop this low after highs in the 470's seem unlikely. Maybe really only a back to back draw would enable a cut-off score to drop below 460 in the near future. Everything depends on the composition of the pool, and right now there are many candidates with high scores, many attribute this to people in the U.S who are on work visas that are applying to Canada now that the U.S has become harder on immigration. But you never know, 2020 is an election year in the U.S so things might change, but that will be in November.

But remain in the pool, because you never know whether a province might nominate you, and as scylia said you can also actively pursue PNPs. as well.
