Hello Myself and my family are wanting to relocate to Canada. I am a Registered Nurse in the UK with a bachelor's degree and currently work in ICU. I was just after some advice on Relocating, Working and housing. Many thanks.

It's not clear if you are asking about a work permit and coming to Canada temporarily or applying for PR and moving permanently.

Either way, I would recommend that you read the following link regarding working as a nurse in Canada: https://www.cna-aiic.ca/en/nursing/regulated-nursing-in-canada/internationally-educated-nurses

This link may also be useful: https://britishexpats.com/forum/canada-56/uk-nurse-moving-canada-905062/

I'm not sure what advice you are looking for in terms of housing. You may want to be more specific with your questions there. You would be responsible for paying for their own housing here.

Apologies, I am looking at applying for PR and moving permanently with my family. In regards to housing I was asking in terms of how affordable house prices are to buy or some advice on how to go about renting, not for help with paying.
Thank you for your reply

For PR, you want to research the Express Entry program. This is a points-based program so success will depend entirely on how many points you have. Right now you need to have 500+ to be selected. Suggest you calculate your points to see what your chances may be: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ces/immigrate-canada/express-entry/works.html

Each province also has their own separate program (PNPs). You'll need to research those separately.

For housing, that is a really hard question to answer and depends on where you plan to live. Renting is extremely challenging in certain citiies right now such as Toronto and Vancouver (very low vacancy rate and high rents). I think most people would say that buying prices are high but of course that depends on what you are comparing this to and prices are also dropping somewhat due to high interest rates.

Just to add…to work as a nurse, you need your qualifications/experience/education assessed through NNAS. Then you need to be licensed in the province you want to live in. This is on top of getting PR through Express Entry or a PNP program.
