UK Permanent Residency for Canadians

Hello PPl , i am just curious i am canadian citizen and wanting to apply for permanent residecy for UK .......does anyone know what is the procedure to apply for UK PR ? I have never been to UK before ......is there any special rule for canadians ? how long is the waiting period ?
I know this site is exclusively for canada visa but did any canadian applied for UK PR ?

The 2 things I notice you'd gain being a Canadian in particular is the possibility of a youth mobility visa (working holiday) and being a commonwealth citizen, if you have a grandparent born in the UK, you could get a special work visa.
