I was hoping to get a working visa for Canada this year but as a UK citizen I think I am restricted to under 31 which unfortunately I turn next Tuesday 13 January 2015.

Does anyone know if it is likely to miraculously be up in the next few days? And if not does anyone know of a way I would still be able to get a temp work visa after this date?

Many thanks

They haven't published the dates yet for the program so I think it's anyone's guess what may happen in the next few days (or not).

Once you're too old for IEC you will need to go through the regular temporary work permit process to work in Canada. This will involve first obtaining a full time job offer from a Canadian employer. That employer will then need to obtain an approved LMIA which will involve advertising the job for a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role, paying a $1K fee, and waiting a few months for the LMIA to be process. If the LMIA is approved, you will then qualify for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

I know that they have not published the dates yet when program YP 2015 will be open but does anyone know when it was open last year ??
Also, will they give as a heads up to say " this and this day the IEC will start taking applications" ?
Or we have to keep checking the website ????
It's very stressful !
My visa runs out April 8th and I hope I will be able to apply before that...

Thanks for the answer.
