Hello,

I understand that there is a limited amount of spaces for IEC for Brits, and the quota for 2013 was filled by March.
I'm submitting a PR application in July/ August, I'm currently staying with my partners parents in Canada (I have 6 months on visitor status). So it won't be until June next year I shall hopefully be granted residency, but I would like to work sooner.

1) Is there any way I can apply INSIDE Canada for a working holiday visa for 2014 (when the quota comes out) and if granted just leave the country and come back in on the working visa?

I'm aware it says (I think) you should apply from your home country, but this is not possible, so as long as I leave (probably to Mexico for 2 weeks) then re-enter, should this be OK?

Thanks

1. Yes you can if you are eligible, you put your country of residence as England on the application. You have to leave and activate the IEC visa at a border office. Note you will need proof of 1 years insurance with repatriation.
2. You don't have to leave for 2 weeks. When/If you get your letter of introduction you just go the nearest land border and "flagpole"
