UAE Resident applying for WP through New Delhi Embassy.

Hi everyone,

First of all, this forum is great and I keep coming back here. I remember, last time I got quick response from here for my previous WP application back in 2014.

I been residing in Dubai for past one year and I will be terminating my work contract and moving back to India (home) by end of next month. I have a LMIA approved job offer from Canada and I was wondering whether can I choose New Delhi Embassy as my preferred center to process my application? Since I am canceling my resident visa here in UAE by mid of next month, I don't want to leave any loose ends here. Also, I heard the processing time here in UAE is much longer compare to India.

Do I need to include a letter stating this matter in my application (do they have such option for a letter?) or is it okay since I am an Indian citizen.

Finally my wife will be accompanying me and I plan to apply for a open work permit along with my application. On the document checklist generated at CIC portal it wasn't mentioned for her medical check up request but I am assuming I will have do it anyway?

Yes better to apply through VFS India.

Hi Rajan,

Thanks for the quick reply. I am currently in Dubai so can I still make application online and choose my resident location as India. So they would process it at New Delhi? Or is there any specific option to choose visa process center in the online portal while submitting application.

I have applied paper WP application through VFS India.

So you went to India for application while staying in UAE?

No I was in India only. You can call VFS for details.
