I’m looking for any advice on how someone from the states ( who unfortunately is disabled and cannot work ) would go about obtaining a Canadian citizen ship after marrying their Canadian Citizen Spouse? Everything I’m finding says the immigrant has to be able to work for at least one year, but that’s not possible. Is it impossible? Is there no hope for this to ever happen?

It is possible. I'm not sure where you are seeing that the immigrant has to be able to work for at least one year. This isn't correct at all.

You cannot apply for citizenship directly. You have to become a permanent resident of Canada first. Once you are married, your spouse in Canada would have to sponsor you for PR. If your spouse is on support payments from the government, you will need to make sure these are disability payments and not regular social assistance. If your spouse is on regular social assistance, this disqualifies your spouse from being a sponsor.

Since your sponsor is not working, when you submit the application, you will want to show evidence that you are actively working in the US (e.g. employment letters, tax returns) and you can also include a letter stating that you will seek employment as soon as you move to Canada as a PR.

Once you become a PR, you should note that your spouse will be financially responsible for you for a period of three years. This means that if you go on social assistance payments during those 3 years, your spouse will be required to pay this money back to the government.

Discussions on spousal sponsorship can be found in the Family Sponsorship section of the forum. The process is the same no matter what country the applicant is from.

Is it the US citizen or the Canadian who is disabled? Think it is the IS citizen. How are they supporting themselves in the US? Is the Canadian moving to the US and option?
