TWP - Immigration status in country of application

Hello friends,
I have question about proof of immigration status in country of application to be submitted at the time of application.
While submitting my WP application in Nov.2013; the VAC staff here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia asked me to attach copy of my previous exit-reentry document, so I understand this is a travel related proof. Since my last travel was in October-2012; I didn't retain my previous exit-reentry doc & told them that from immigration stamps on passport it can be verified, and my application was submitted.
I did not take my vacation last year so there is no immigration stamp on my passport in the year 2013. Now I am planning to request CIC for my passport (submitted with application) for renewing my current local work permit. Shall I update my immigration status by visiting a neighboring country while I will have my passport? How much duration without travel history will CIC consider acceptable?
I request some seniors to help me please......

If you didn't actually travel in 2013, there is nothing wrong with saying that. You don't need to make an extra trip just so you can claim a travel history.
