Hi guys,

i hv one year full time experience which is under 2 NOC codes. Plz suggest me two NOC's are fine for one year experience or it has to be single NOC.

One NOC code = 8 months

Then I had 3 months off as I went for holiday.

Another job with different NOC code = 6 months

The combination of above months gives 14 months. I am not quite sure if i am eligible to apply.

thx.

Canada enquiry,

As per the new rules which changed on 26th June 10, firstly your NOC should be among the 29 eligible occupations needed.

Secondly, the official website www.cic.gc.ca clearly says that combination of more than one NOC is not allowed to claim the 1 year experience.

Therefore, unfortunately you cannot combine.

You can read info about this on the above webite.

this is wrong information.

here is what the ministerial instructions say about continuous full time work experience.

"the requirement of having at least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in the last ten years in “one or more” NOC code in the MI means that an SW1 applicant may use any combination of full-time or part-time work experience in more than one eligible NOC category in the last 10 years in calculating their one year of continuous work experience, as long as their experience adds up to at least one year. "...

here is the official source ... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english//resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob173.asp#tphp idtphp

that is why i asked the OP "Canada enquiry" about what are these two NOC codes to know if he is eligible as per the new list of 29 NOC codes.

Hello Ja77,

I am not wrong, please see my explanation.

The link that you have provided is an operational bulletin given on Jan 2010. As you know the rules changed on 26th June 10 and looks like they have not updated the bulletin.

This is what has been showing on the official website www.cic.gc.ca, since 26th June 10. I have also put the link for you to verify:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

It clearly says that you cannot combine NOC from multiple occupations from the 29 occupations to claim 1 year experience.

The following two categories of applications accompanied by the results of the principal applicant’s English or French language proficiency assessment, not exceeding the identified limit and that meet either of the following criteria shall be placed into processing:

Applications from skilled workers with evidence of one year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in the last ten years in at least one of the National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes (and not combined partial year experience in multiple NOCs) specified in the Ministerial Instructions, up to a maximum of 20,000 new, complete applications per year with no more than 5% (1,000 applications) of this maximum in any one NOC category;

OR

Applications submitted with an Arranged Employment Offer consistent with requirements of subsection R82(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).

Regards,
Whatsup

Dear Whatsup,

thanks for the link. I submitted my application in Jan 2007 at CHC, London and I have already combined some NOC's to claim one year FT experience. Please clarify are they acceptable? CHC, London has not made any decision yet.

Regards.

Mohan Joshi,

As you application was filed in 2007, the rules in 2007 will apply, so you do not have to worry as the present rule released on 26th June 2010 is not applicable to your application.

All the best !
