Maybe I am misreading but isn’t the OP implying they have not yet landed, so need to change their status from single to married before they land ?Both are already PR so not further processing required at CIC front.

Thanks guys for your response. As per the communication received from Canadian Immigration Department, they have cancelled their confirmation of Permanent Residence to update the marital status, and asked for Immigration Medical examination, and once this is done, they will issue further instructions. I am not sure how long it will take to get new PR.Seems like they both have to notify CIC that they are married but there will be no need to resubmit and wait for the other spouse to go through screening process.
