Hello Friends,

I am thinking of enrolling in a 8-month graduate certificate program this coming fall or januarynext year. However after completng the course,if I dont get a job within the pgwp validity period of 1 year, can i apply for another 1 year certificate program and then apply for pgwp again after doing both the courses. What will be the validity period of the pgwp that I receive after completing both the courses
(will it be 3yrs or less?)

Also if I apply for a PR later under Canadian Experienced Class, will the two 8-month courses count towards the education requirements for PR under canadian experienced class.?I checked the canadian immigration website but it does not mention whether the certificate programs would
be counted or not(when applying for PR)

Ketan,

If you have gone through to the CIC website it clearly says that they dont count diplomas or certificate programs. I am confused too as the PR criteria whether you apply directly to CIC or through to a PNP it says minimum 1 year of full time study and 1 year of paid full time work experience irrelevant to the nature of your study in canada.

It is very important to hire a agent who has good knowledge of all this. So I think 1 year of full study means a 12 Masters level course and not PG diplomas.

Please ensure that u research well prior to paying fees and also let me know if there can be anything of my help withing your research as we both are more or less on the same boat of confusion.

Thanks,
Vicrosta
