Hi Guys

Fairly straightforward question but can you have two BOWP Applications processing at the same time?. The reason I ask is that my visa is up May 10th and I applied for BOWP on february 24th when it was 43 days processing now the processing seems to be between 61 to 65 days and I worried than I will not hear if my application is successful before May 10th. I am worried that for a small reason my application will be rejected after May 10th therefore I am unable to work. So would it be possible to apply for another BOWP before my visa expires so I get implied status in case the first application is rejected ?

I was actually wondering the same thing. Applied on Feb 19th, visa expired March 28th. I really keep my fingers crossed, because if it is refused for any reason I'm screwed... I'm hoping to get an answer later next week or early the following one!

The processing time for the BOWP online is just ridiculous ...so annoying I can't imagine its that hard to do. Sick of them increasing processing times every week

yes, you can apply as many as you want at the processing time.it will always come around 30 days.

Why do you think your BOWP application from February will possibly be declined & the other approved? I'm not sure I see the sense in applying for another BOWP. I too applied Feb 19th and it seems with each weekend they get a little slower, but based on timelines of approvals for others I think we will hear either this week or next. I would say save your money and wait, unless you have a valid reason for thinking your feb 19th app will be declined and another one approved shortly after.

Thanks for your response. To be honest I have no reason to believe my application will be rejected. I am just very stressed with the whole situation. I think when I applied on February 24th the processing time was 50 days now its anywhere between 61-65 days its just so frustrating.

One of the conditions for BOWP is a valid status on work permit that is due to expire in 4 months. If they refused your first BOWP, that valid status is lost and will require a process of restoration before re-applying for work permit. That means according to the requirements, your second application won't be eligible for BOWP.

Any suggestion please. I applied for BOWP and OWP for me and my spouse after 21 feb which is when the rule of open work permit holder fee came into picture. At that time online the system took only $100 for me but did not charge any open work permit holder fee for my spouse application. How should i handle this situation now?
Will this result to any rejection of spouse OWP ?

Hey there, so did you finally apply 2 BOWP applications? I'm thinking of doing the same... one now and then another just before expiry of my PGWP...What do you think?
