Hello Friends,

I am currently at 457 points (CEC). I will turn 32 on July 30 and after that I will loose 5 points due to age. My question is if I get an ITA before I turn 32 would my application get rejected later after I turn 32 and as a result my points fall below the cutoff in that draw? Situation one of its kind..

Thanks!

when you submit the application, you should have points equal to or greater than the cut off of the draw in which you got ITA.

Totally disagree with the post above. If you receive an ITA now and submit your application after your birthday you will be granted an exemption of refusal , in other words you wouldn't be refused. Please see the link below for further explanation especially the heading 'Exemption to A11.2: Candidates who have a birthday after ITA'.

Please I have a similar challenge to this. my express entry point is currently at 67 Including spouse degree and IELTS). I will be 40 years by September this year and my point will decrease by 1. I am currently at credential evaluation by WES. I may not likely submit my expression of interest before end of August this year. Should I go for provincial nomination program or still take a risk by going ahead with expression of interest. I know an option is for me to retake IELTS for a better result. Please advise.

Your Express Entry points (CRS as its called) cannot be 67 - you are still referring to the old FSW program points I think. Express Entry points total is 1200. Also, the points for the age decrease by 5 points every year unlike FSW.

For Express Entry and any PNP programs (unless you have Canadian education), ECA assessment is mandatory. So you need to contact WES etc and get your ECA done for being eligible for Express Entry or PNP programs. Also, for participating in PNP, Express Entry profile is mandatory if the PNP stream is express entry stream.

Without knowing what will be your expected CRS score and your current IELTS, I cannot advise whether you should retake IELTS.

Use this tool to calculate your score for Express Entry - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
