Tuition Carry Forward and Transfer

Hello!

I have unused tuition fee and I plan to transfer it to my spouse. Based on information I heard before, the maximum amount to transfer is $5000 and if we got married in 2011, we can only claim my 2011 tuition fee. So, what do I need to do with my unused tuition fee before 2011 if I don't have a FT job? Does anyone understand about these issues? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

You can transfer amounts from your 2011 tuition to him(because they have not been carried over yet), less any amount you claim. For credits before 2011, you can carry them forward indefinitely until you have a full-job.
