trying to get temporary resident visa

Hi i am from Philippines studying nursing and my boyfriend and i decide to get visitor visa april 2014 but it was refused
so my boyfriend and i really disappointed but we new already they will refused it in the first place but we still holding hope that they will give me a change for TRV

my boyfriend make an invitation letter and purpose of my visit he want me to visit his family while my break in school
and i asked my school to make a letter for me that im studying here in philippines and i print my ID from school and i already pay my second semester to prof that im going back to philippines after my visit. i have my own credit which my limit is 150,000 and i have my 2 own debit account which have balance 60,000 each. and he makes a letter also for my financial support while im in canada. and i was working in the hotel in that time

so yeah! they refused my visa because
i dont have travel history,my current employment, and i dont have trong ties in my country
but i really dont understand its not enough' to prove that im studying here' and my family and my work,


but here i am again i will try to reapply again
so what i did now is i travel to Thailand for a week by my own when my visa refused
and i quit my job so i can concentrate to my study

i will reapply again because i really want to meet my boyfriend family and i want to prove to immigration officer that i am not losing hope
try and try until i succeed

There's a strong chance you will be refused again, and let me explain why:

1) Travel history - Travelling to Thailand only isn't enough. What they're looking for is you've travelled to countries that are difficult to enter, like US, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc. Even if you can't go there, you should have travelled to much more than just 1 country. Travelling to Thailand is very easy for Filipinos, because I believe you guys don't need a visa to go there.

2) Current employment - You worked at a hotel before, they probably refused it because you only worked there just recently, or they don't consider it a real permanent job for you to go back to. Or you did not provide letter from employer, pay stubs, etc to support your claim that your job is a strong tie to go back to. You say you've just quit your job now, that will only hurt your chances even more, because you have no job to go back to.

3) Weak ties in country - You probably have family members living in Canada, or you don't have enough family back home in Philippines. Also, visiting a boyfriend does hurt your chances a little because they will think you will overstay your visa to be with him.

Also I have to warn you that even though a previous TRV refusal is not a big deal should you decide to come to Canada via sponsorship, it will be a problem if you be refused multiple times, because it shows you've made numerous attempts to enter Canada. I suggest you don't apply a second time not only for that reason, but also because it doesn't seem like you've addressed CIC's previous concerns.

I don't know why you guys tried to apply for a visitor visa knowing that you guys will be refused in the first place, I feel like you guys treat TRVs like they're nothing serious. But as I mentioned before, previous TRV refusals, especially multiple ones, will not be looked upon favorably if you decide to come here via sponsorship.

If you want to meet his parents, just ask your b/fs parents to fly over to Phillppines with your bf the next time they are free.

I thought I had alot of money as a student. But 120,000 in your accounts and a 150,000 credit limit? . You could even afford to transfer to study nursing in Canada. George Brown college has an outstanding nursing program and are accepting many international students (if you have the desire to move here or be with your bf).

Like mikeymyke said, the more refusals you have, the more it becomes a big red flag, something you should consider for your future plans.

hi Koifish76 i think 120,000 is big money to Philippines currency but if you convert that money in US or Canadian money That is not a lot..

I thought she had 150000 CANADIAN credit limit and 120000 on her bank accounts ... I was amazed

(And couldn't figure how travel history could be an issue for a person with all that available amount of money).
