Hey

I am from the UK in Canada with my Canadian partner. I have been here as a visitor for 5 months and at the end of December my visa expires. I want to extend my visa only until the end of Jan as I don't have a place to stay in the UK until then (My mum has a lodger who is leaving) and to spend Christmas/NY with my GF. After this I plan to go home and try and find temp work until my PR visa is finalised.

I have the forms downloaded to extend my stay. Are they even going to look at this before I go home? What are my chances on being approved/denied?

I have the funds to support myself until I leave. I am just wondering how it is best to explain it on the forms?

If they haven't processed it by the time I go home is there a way to cancel or will it already be cancelled since I left?

Thanks

You would be on implied status if you send your application 30 days before the allowed visit expires. You can stay until you received a decision from CPC-V.

How long does that normally take? I would hate to get turned down with only 2-3 weeks left in the country anyway lol

I'm wondering how much information to include in the application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#temp_res

109 days as per application processing time of visitor extension
