Hi,
I want to share with you my experience of getting new TRV within Canada. It is not over yet, hoping to receive my passport soon.

I haven't seen such threads before, so I decided to create my own.

My timeline:

Applied: November 12
Passport request: November 22
Passport sent: November 23 (FedEx)
Passport received by CIC: November 26
Application approved: December 3
According to CIC passport was sent back to me (to Winnipeg) on December 7. Tracking number (Xpress post) was activated on Monday, December 10.

Now some mystery that has happened: My passport was sent to Toronto random address instead of Winnipeg. I immediately called Canada Post when noticed that envelope is out for delivery in Toronto. Supervisor created a service ticket and tried to contact the driver. No luck. Then I sent a webform to CIC asking what is going on. After a couple hours my passport was delivered to the middle of the nowhere in Toronto. After hours and hours of phone calls with Canada Post, they made someone to retrieve the envelope but it was yesterday evening and I was not aware of that yet.

Today in the morning I called CIC and had a conversation with them about what has happened. They were sure that envelope was sent to Winnipeg and gave me my address and tracking number information as a confirmation. Also, they told that they never put any labels or attach any papers on the top of handwritten address. Finally, I was told to contact Canada Post, because by no means it was a mistake of Immigration Services.

Shortly after I received a phone call from Canada Post that they found my envelope with a label on top of my handwritten address in Winnipeg with a random address in Toronto. They were nice to put my envelope into the larger Priority envelope and send it to me. Hopefully, I will receive my passport soon... but yesterday was a real nightmare.

Did anyone encounter such a situation? I asked Canada Post to provide me with a picture of the envelope and attached label on top. Should I seek any explanations from CIC that my document was sent to nowhere?
